Storytelling, a book walk and treats are all part of the fun. Join us on Monday, February 1st, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Pennies for Haiti Students at Franklin are collecting coins for the people in Haiti. All funds will be donated to the organization, Feed My Starving Children. One meal is just 17 cents. Our fund drive will last through the second week in February. From our Franklin hearts to the hearts of the people in Haiti, please join us in this fundraiser. National African American Family Involvement Day Please join us Monday, February 8th, for Mixed Blood Theatre's performance, "The Daughters of Africa". The program will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the gym. We are also welcoming parents for coffee and treats, beginning at 9:00 a.m. CLICK HERE FOR FREE H1N1 CLINIC INFORMATION Health Notes From the School Nurse Fall 2009 Update regarding the H1N1 flu for the 2009-2010 school year. Families, students and school staff can keep from getting sick with flu in three ways: 1. Practice good handwashing, wash hands frequently with soap and water, especially after coughing or sneezing. 2. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. If you don't have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your elbow. 3. Stay home if sick with flu-like symptoms, (fever over 100 degrees, body aches, headaches) until at least 24 hours after the fever has gone away without the use of any fever-reducing medication that contains ibuprofen or acetaminophen. School nurses and administrators will be collecting data about flu-like illness and will follow the guidelines recommended by the CDC (Center for Disease Control) and local public health agencies about steps to take in the school setting during the 2009-2010 school year.
