| Musical Learning and Skills Assessment |  | At Franklin Music Magnet instrumental music students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade are held to high standards of musicianship. All students who choose to play an instrument are given a 25-minute lesson every week by a highly-qualified music educator. As concerts and performances approach, students also participate in weekly rehearsals and sectional ensembles.
Formal assessment of students' musical skills and learning takes place at every lesson and rehearsal, and a summative progress report is issued for each student at the end of every grading period. Below are the rubrics used for assessment by Ms. Howard for her instrumental music students.
