Coraline by Neil Gaiman The book is about a young girl named Coraline who discovers a door to a parallel world shortly after she and her family moves into a huge house. Since the house is so large, others live in the house (on separate floors) including Miss Spink and Miss Forcible who claim to be former starlets and Mr. Bobo, an old man with a mouse circus, seem to know about the parallel world and try to warn her but she fluffs them off until she really discovers what the other world is about.
