Mr. Cudahy works with ELL students in Ms Xiong's, Mr.Gjerde's, and Mr. Harper's 4th Grade classes and Mrs. Barnes' 6th grade class.
For Ms Xiong's class, Mr. Cudahy is in the classroom during reading and math.
For Mr.Gjerde's class, Mr. Cudahy is in the classroom during reading.
For Mr. Harper's class, Mr. Cudahy works with the whole class during Word Work and then works with a group of 6 students in reading.
For Mrs. Barnes' class, Mr. Cudahy team teaches reading with Mrs. Barnes and Ms Lindstrom. Then he works with a group of 10 students.
In the reading classes, we focus on reading comprehension strategies. The whole group receives a short focus lesson on a particular skill. Then, students are split into groups of 3-4. The students read materials that are at their individual reading level. These groups are flexible; the groups change as the students' reading abilities advance.
