This award has been established by a
private donor from our neighborhood, and will be awarded to two Franklin intermediate music students for next year. Through a generous donation to Franklin Music Magnet by the Meyers family, the selected students will be given the chance to take private music lessons at the studio of their choice. The scholarship covers, in direct payments to the lessons studio, the full cost of lessons for one year.
So often we see the great results of students in music study, made even better when it’s possible to take lessons from persons who are true experts in their music (whether it’s vocal or instrumental music). Here’s a chance for one vocal and one instrumental student from grade four, five or six to get private lessons.....paid on a scholarship! This includes piano students, by the way.
Principal Holmquist-Burks will be going to 4th, 5th, and 6th grade classes this week to distribute applications for the
2007-2008 Music Scholarship. The deadline for the
application to be turned in is Thursday, May 31. During the week of June 4-8 the
scholarship committee will meet to select two (2) winners.
The 2007-2008 scholarship recipients will be announced on June 12th at the annual Talent Showcase.
