Reading Recovery
Reading_Child_4
Reading Recovery is a reading program for first grade students. Students are selected using scores from six subtests which include letter identification, word test, concepts of print, writing vocabulary, hearing sound in words, and reading level.

Students work individually with the Reading Recovery teacher for half  an hour each day. Each lesson consists of  reading familiar text for fluency, reading yesterday's new book, working with letters and words using magnetic letters, writing a story, assembling a cut up sentence, and reading a new book.

The goal is for children to develop effective reading and writing strategies in order to perform within an average range in their classroom.
