Nutrition Tips for Healthy Eating
Post-Holiday Nutrition- Trade sugary sweets for more fruits and vegetables, and give up sauces, dressings or butter.
- Share meals or order an appetizer-size dish.
- Leave food on your plate so you know you are eating less.
Take-Out Message- A 12-inch turkey sandwich has as many calories as a Big Mac, and even more if you add cheese and dressing!
- Stick to a 6-inch Subway sandwich or split the 12-inch two (or more) ways.
- Better yet, order a mini sub.
Taste Test
- As you prepare dinner, always use a clean spoon to "taste" and never put that spoon back into the food without washing it - whether it's yours or otherwise.
