November 2008 A Letter From the Principal, Mrs. Holmquist-Burks With the coming of winter, we want to remind you to always watch for weather changing and the cold coming. Please dress your children in warm clothing, hats, jackets, warm shoes and socks, and gloves or mittens, when the weather changes and the cold comes upon us. We also want to remind you that students may NOT enter the building until 8:35 a.m., so do not drop them off earlier than that because there will be no supervision until that time. Remember when dropping off and picking up your students from the north parking lot (Mt. Airy side) that you should not block others into the parking lot. Please pull into the parking

lot, drop the student off quickly, and depart quickly so that other parents may come and go in a timely manner. We have nearly 400 students at Franklin this year, making for more congested parking. thank you for cooperation in this matter. The Site Council at Franklin needs your help. Please come to our next meeting on Tuesday, December 16, 5:45 - 7 p.m. in the Franklin Library. Parents, please attend on this important night for Site Council. If you have any further questions, please feel free to call me at
school at 293-8620. We have an excellent staff of professionals here to
help you and your student(s) on their educational journey.
Very sincerely yours, Katherine Holmquist-Burks, Principal
